Cthulhu 1.01 Update Includes AAX Support

Pro Tools 11 users have a new plug-in to play with. The exotically named Cthulhu, developed by Producer/DJ Steve Duda from Xfer Records, received an update to version 1.01 which includes 32 and 64-bit AAX support.

Cthulhu is a chord creator and arpeggiator. You can import or record midi directly into Cthulhu’s Chords Module, allowing you to experiment with creating and reworking chord progressions using nothing but single-note presses. Cthulhu is able to analyze the chords and allow for various chord changing options like circle of fifths, Chromatic etc. It contains more than 150 chord presets providing an almost unlimited amount of possible musical sounding chord progressions.

Cthulhu’s Arp Module can transform your chords in many new ways using a pattern-based arpeggiator. This allows you to manipulate incoming notes or chords in creative rhythmic ways. The Arp Module comes with features such as chord-arpeggio mode, intelligent transpose, harmony, ties, velocity sequencing, and more. Watch Chtulhu in action in this video.

Cthulhu is available for DAWs capable of hosting AU and VST plug-ins and of course Pro Tools 10 or 11 from version 1.01 onwards. The plug-in costs only $39 US and is a steal for what it can do. More information on Chtulhu can be found on Xfer Records website.
