Waves announced today that the price of the Waves Update Pan (WUP) will be increased from $200 to $300. Waves have had some criticism from users this year after they announced they wouldn’t be updating their large plugin library to AAX DSP format for the Pro Tools HDX system any time soon if at all.

The price increase might not fall well with customers that have invested in a Pro Tools HDX system and are left clueless about whether they will be able to upgrade their Waves plugins in the future. Let’s hope Waves is using this price increase to invest in AAX dsp development.
