Waves today introduced a new plug-in called Reel ADT that emulates the famous Artificial Double Tracking effect used in the famous Abbey Road Studios.
Waves/Abbey Road Reel ADT is the first plugin of its kind. The effect that long has been part of Abbey Road’s signature sound, was initially created in the sixties for The Beatles. Reel ADT uses controls that can advance or push back the doubled signal. This allows you to achieve great-sounding delay and pitch variations. You can also drive each of the signals separately to add tape saturations.
Developed in association with Abbey Road Studios, Reel ADT has an authentic modeled valve tape machine sound including faithful emulation of wow and flutter. The plugin can enhance any track with the impression of two separate takes. This gives you results as close as possible to real double tracking. Other classic Abbey Road tape effects such as flanging and phasing can also be achieved with ease. All the character, depth and wide sound of this classic effect can be at your fingertips with Waves’ Reel ADT.
The plug-in is available for Windows and Mac OS X in AAX, AU and VST formats. The plug-in is temporarily on sale for $99 US (regular price $200). For more information visit the Reel ADT page on Waves’ website.
