Universal Audio is holding an Apollo Thunderbolt promotion. If you buy an Apollo Interface, you get the Thunderbolt Option Card for free.
With the release of the new Mac Pro in December last year, we witness an explosion of new Thunderbolt devices and storage options on the market. UAD already had a Thunderbolt slot build-in when the Apollo was first introduced in Januari 2012. The Thunderbolt Option Card itself came available in August 2012 for $499 US.
Now through March 31st, 2014, when you purchase an Apollo DUO, Apollo QUAD, or Apollo 16 audio interface from an authorized Universal Audio retailer, you’ll receive a FREE pre-installed* Thunderbolt Option Card at the time of purchase.
The Thunderbolt Option Card is compatible with the latest generation of iMacs, MacBook Pros, MacBook Airs, and Mac minis. It provides increased bandwidth and next-generation connectivity for Apollo. This translates into greater UAD plug-in instances, improved performance at higher sample rates, and reduced UAD plug-in latency versus FireWire. Compatibility with the new Mac Pro 2013 will become available through a Firmware update. This update is slated for early 2014. For more info on the compatibility of your UAD product with the new Mac Pro, visit the UAD Compatibility webpage.
If you registered an Apollo DUO, Apollo QUAD, or Apollo 16 interface in 2014 without a pre-installed Thunderbolt Option Card included, you are eligible for a free Thunderbolt Option Card via an online form, which can be accessed through your My UAudio Account. More information on this Promotion can be found on the promotions page of UA’s website.
