UAD 7.3 software released with API Vision Channel Strip

Released today by Universal Audio is the new UAD 7.3 software for Apollo and UAD2 card owners. The update contains new features and many improvements including new host applications for Cubase, Nuendo and Logic X pro.

Next to the 7.3 software update, UA released the API Vision Channel Strip plugin. The new plugin faithfully emulates a channel strip from API’s flagship Vision Analog Console. It comprises of five distinct modules, the 212L Mic preamp, the 215L Low/High Pass filters, 235L Gate/Expander, 225L Compressor/Limiter and the 550L 4-band Equalizer.

The plugin models the channel strip’s non linearity by emulating its circuitry and op-amp. Using an Apollo or UAD2 Card, users can record through the API plugin in real-time with less than 2ms latency. The plugin comes with a wealth of presets from famous producers like Neil Dorfsman, Nathaniel Kunkel, John Paterno, Joe Chicarelli and David Isaac.

The 7.3 software update is free for existing users. At the moment of writing the 7.3 software update was temporarily unavailable but should be online soon. The API plugin is available now from UA’s Online Store and costs $299 US. More info on UA’s website.
