Sonnet Introduces xMac Pro Server Rackmount

The new xMac Pro Server by Sonnet is a rack mount for the new Mac Pro.

The xMac Pro Server could be great for Pro Tools HD and HD Native users. It has Thunderbolt 2 connectivity, room for additional hard drives and provides 3 full length PCIe card slots. It houses the Mac Pro in a horizontal position, which Apple says is fine as long as the airflow for the new Mac Pro is not interrupted. The xMac Pro Server does enclose the top of the Mac Pro, but according to Sonnet, the computer’s airflow remains unchanged and unobstructed. The independent airflow through the computer is maintained according to Apple’s specifications.
