Avid Releases Pro Tools 11.1.1 Update

Avid released Pro Tools 11.1.1, a small update for version 11.1 with a handful of fixes.

The most important fix in both Mac and Windows versions is for dragging a clip that shares a crossfade. The crossfade is now correctly converted to separate fades that preserve the sound of the original crossfade.

Also on both platforms, Pro Tools 11.1.1 now successfully imports AAF files that were exported from Steinberg Nuendo.

A Windows only fix will stop audio from distorting when you are using ASIO applications with the Avid ASIO Driver with HDX or HD Native hardware.

Unfortunately this update still doesn’t allow co-installing Pro Tools 10.3 and Pro Tools 11 under Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks. There’s also no support for the Eleven Rack window as seen in previous versions of Pro Tools. Another important issue is that Mac OS X 10.9.1 is not yet approved, so make sure you don’t update your system if you are working on Mac OS X Mavericks 10.9.

Visit Avid’s website for more information on the 11.1.1 update. The update can be downloaded from your Avid account.
